Bambii Biography

Kirsten Azan performs under the stage name Bambii as a Jamaican-Canadian DJ producer and multi-instrumentalist based in Toronto who merges dancehall with jungle and drum ’n’ bass and UK garage and hyperpop and techno. She co-founded the influential rave series JERK which brings Caribbean diaspora artists together with vibrant communities through free jerk chicken and unrestricted celebration.

Bambii started DJing at 23 before becoming the touring DJ for Mykki Blanco and later supporting Kelela and Bbymutha while performing at Boiler Room and festivals across the world. Her performances across multiple genres have received attention from Vogue, DAZED, Paper, Fader, Wonderland and multiple appearances on the cover of DJ Mag.

She started her production career by releasing Nitevision (featuring Pamputtae) in 2019 before releasing Infinity Club in 2023 which received a 4-star NME review and won the Juno Award for Electronic Album of the Year (2024) and earned a nomination for the 2024 Polaris Music Prize. Infinity Club II (June 2025) presents visual and audio explorations through songs such as “Mirror” (feat. Jessy Lanza & Yaeji) alongside musical partnerships with Aluna, Ravyn Lenae and BEAM.

Bambii develops her artistic identity through her Jamaican-Caribbean heritage and queer feminist principles. She defines her musical approach as "genre-bending" while using the club environment to create unconfined intimate spaces which she transforms into complete sonic experiences.
