Samantha Rae Bowers, known professionally as Sammy Rae, is an American singer-songwriter and bandleader from Derby, Connecticut. Leading Sammy Rae & The Friends, an eight-piece band formed in Brooklyn in 2016, she blends funk, jazz, rock, folk, and pop, influenced by artists like Queen, Ella Fitzgerald, Bruce Springsteen, and gospel music. After moving to New York at 19, she honed her craft at venues like the Cotton Club, releasing EPs “The Good Life” (2018) and “Let’s Throw a Party” (2021), and the debut album “Something for Everybody” (2024). Known for high-energy live shows, the band has performed at Bonnaroo and SummerStage, building a global fan base. Rae studied at Manhattan College before pursuing music full-time.
