Soman Chainani's first novel, The School for Good and Evil, debuted on the New York Times Bestseller List, spent 12 weeks on the ABA National Indie Bestseller List, has been translated into languages on six continents, and will soon be a major motion picture from Universal Studios produced by Joe Roth (Snow White and the Huntsman Alice in Wonderland Oz the Great and Powerful) and Jane Startz (Tuck Everlasting Ella Enchanted).
Soman graduated from Columbia University's MFA Film Program and was awarded the school's top honor, the FMI Fellowship for Writing and Directing. DAVY & STU and KALI MA, his short films, have performed at over 150 international film festivals, received over 30 jury and audience prizes, and amassed over 1000000 YouTube views.
