Tom Roberts is a writer and speaker who resides in Huntington Beach, California. Escape from Myself: A Manic-Journey Depressive to Nowhere is his book. Tom shares with his audiences his own story of battling a severe mental condition.

In 1993, he was given a bipolar illness diagnosis, but it was too late to preserve his marriage and his job as a college professor. Tom also speaks out against stigma around mental illness since it prevents many individuals who are in dire need of treatment from receiving it.

His sister and brother, both of whom committed suicide, made up two of them. Tom graduated from the University of Kansas with a master's degree in radio, television, and film.

He first taught Technical Communication at the University of California - Berkeley School of Engineering Extension before working as an assistant professor of broadcasting at John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Tom works as a voice actor in the Los Angeles region. He has experience performing professionally on stage, in movies, and on television.
