In September 2010, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper named Robert Cardillo as the first Deputy Director of National Intelligence for Intelligence Integration. Clapper said in a statement that the role will improve information sharing and collaboration between those who gather intelligence and those who analyze it, but the entire job description has yet to be finalized. Mr.
Cardillo formerly served as the Defense Intelligence Agency's Deputy Director (DIA). Prior to that, he was the DIA's Deputy Director for Analysis and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency's Director of Analysis and Production (NGA).
