Manny Scott’s amazing journey to finding out who is was partially chronicled in the 2007 movie, Freedom Writers. Since then, Scott tells his personal story to over 100 groups a year. Scott’s father was in jail and he often skipped school as a youngster, which put him at risk of walking down the wrong path.
He walked away from school when he was 14 and traveled from house to house. One day a talk with a stranger sent him back to school ready to be a different person and the rest was history. Scott founded Ink International in 2007, which works to prevent suicide, raise student achievement, and aids in teacher effectiveness.
