Buzz Aldrin is a US based engineer who is famous for his work as a NASA astronaut. He was one of the first human beings to land on the moon, alongside Neil Armstrong. Aldrin was born in New Jersey and attended the West Point military academy. He earned his Sc.D.

degree in astronautics from MIT and became the first NASA astronaut with a doctorate. Aldrin left NASA in 1971 and began work with the US Air Force. Aldrin worked as a Commandant for the test pilot school, where he helped teach new pilots. The next year Aldrin retired from NASA.
