Peter Salovey is an eminent American psychologist, scholar, and academic leader, currently serving as the 23rd President of Yale University. Salovey completed his undergraduate degree in psychology and sociology from Stanford University in 1980 and earned an M.S., M.Phil., and a Ph.D. in psychology from Yale University. In 1986, he joined the Yale faculty as an assistant professor.
He has since held various positions, including the Dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, Dean of Yale College, and Provost of the University. Salovey is known for his groundbreaking research on the psychology of emotions, social and emotional intelligence, and health behavior.
