Matt Brady, a collegiate basketball coach and the current men's basketball coach at James Madison University, was born on October 1, 1965. On March 26, 2008, he was introduced during a press conference. Brady was the head coach at Marist College for four years, finishing with a 73–50 record.

In 2007, he led the Red Foxes to the MAAC regular-season championship. Marist then progressed to the NIT, where it won the first round against Oklahoma State. Marist's triumph in the NIT was the program's first-ever playoff victory. Brady took over a team at Madison that hadn't produced a winning season since Sherman Dillard's 20–9 season in 1999–2000.
