Martin Gaynor is the E.J. Barone Professor of Economics and Health Policy at the Heinz College of Carnegie Mellon University and chair of the governing board of the Health Care Cost Institute an independent nonprofit dedicated to advancing knowledge about the determinants of US health care costs.
Gaynor's research focuses on the economics of health care markets and health care organizations including antitrust regulation and health reform. He advises the governments of the US UK and the Netherlands on competition in health care markets. He has also won a number of awards for his research including the 2007 Victor R.
