Madison Kyle Bumgarner, also known as Mad Bum, is an American professional baseball starting pitcher for the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball. In 2014, he was voted the Most Valuable Player of the World Series, which was his third as a Giant.
Bumgarner was up in Hickory, North Carolina, and went to South Caldwell High School in Hudson, where he was a member of the baseball team that won the 4A State Championship in 2007. He was chosen in the first round (tenth overall) in the 2007 Major League Baseball Draft out of high school by the San Francisco Giants.
