He is widely known for directing the horror film Saw and creating Billy the puppet.Wan has also directed Dead Silence Death Sentence and Insidious. Wan was born in Kuching Sarawak Malaysia to Chinese parents and was raised in Perth Western Australia from a young age.
Wan was 11 years of age when he first dreamed of making films and his tertiary studies were undertaken at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) where he completed his Bachelor of Arts degree.
