Daniel Czitrom is Professor of History at Mount Holyoke College. He was born and raised in the Bronx NY and he earned his PhD. in History at the University of Wisconsin Madison. His latest book is New York Exposed: The Gilded Age Police Scandal That Launched the Progressive Era (Oxford 2016).
He is also the author (with Bonnie Yochelson) of Rediscovering Jacob Riis (New Press 2008; Chicago pb 2014) and Media and the American Mind: From Morse to McLuhan (North Carolina 1982 and translated into Spanish and Chinese.) And he is co-author of Out of Many: A History of the American People (Pearson 8th ed.
