Rob Thomas, a rock recording artist, and composer was born on a US military installation in Landstuhl, Germany, on February 14, 1972. He is the lead singer and primary composer for Matchbox Twenty, as well as a former member of Tabitha's Secret. Thomas is also a solo artist who records and performs.
Thomas won three Grammys in 1999 for co-writing and performing on Carlos Santana's triple-platinum single Smooth, which was featured on the album Supernatural.
