Yvonne Cagle Biography

As a commissioned medical officer working at the 48th Tactical Hospital in the UK, Dr. Yvonne Cagle participated in the STS-30 mission to test the Magellan spacecraft in May 1989 as the Air Force Medical Liaison Officer. From 1994 to 1996, Dr. Cagle served as a physician at the NASA Occupational Health Clinic. In 2005, she was appointed to the NASA/ARC as the main ARC Astronaut Science Liaison and Strategic Relationships Manager for Google and other Silicon Valley Programmatic Partnerships after being chosen by NASA for astronaut training. The Commercial Reusable Suborbital Research Program's advisor was Dr. Cagle. She previously held the positions of NASA liaison and vice president for space exploration technologies at Silicon Valley, California's Singularity University. She was chosen in 2013 to be a member of the backup crew for Hawaii Space Exploration Analog and Simulation (HI-SEAS), a NASA research that aims to figure out the best method to feed humans on multi-year journeys to Mars or the moon.
