Former professional football player Tony Dorsett. Dallas Cowboys selected Dorsett as the first pick in the first round of the 1977 NFL Draft. Dorsett was a unanimous All-American in 1975 and 1976 and the 1976 Heisman Trophy winner as the nation's best collegiate athlete.
However, injuries restricted his playing time with Denver, and after tearing knee ligaments during the team's 1989 training camp, he was forced to retire.
