1940 saw the birth of Tom Jones in Pontypridd, South Wales. He dropped out of school at a young age, doing a variety of jobs during the day and performing in bars at night. By 1963, Tommy Scott and the Senators, his own band, had achieved fame. He had a recording contract with Decca by 1964.
It's Not Unusual, his second song, was a tremendous international smash. Tom rose to fame as a fantastic live performer, appearing in arenas all over the world and in places like Las Vegas. Tom has sold over 30 million albums by 1971.
