Thomas Gilovich studies how individuals assess information in their personal and professional lives, how they utilize that information to make conclusions and hold beliefs, and how they use that knowledge to decide what actions to take. Additionally, he is intrigued by the emotional states that affect and result from others' assessments.
The National Science Foundation and the National Institute of Mental Health have both supported his study. Tom is a co-director of the Cornell Center for Behavioral Economics and Decision Research and a professor of psychology at Cornell University. He has received several teaching honors.
