Terri Lyne Carrington, a Grammy Award-winning drummer, author, and bandleader, was born in Medford, Massachusetts, in 1965.
After engaging in a diverse visiting career for more than 20 years with luminaries such as Herbie Hancock Shorter, Wayne Jarreau, Al Getz, Stan Sanborn, David Joseph Sample Clark, Cassandra Wilson, Terry, Dianne Reeves returned to her old neighborhood after being chosen as a teacher at her alma mater, Berklee College of Music.
