Tate Kobang from Baltimore won his account deal thanks to a free-form run of verses he called Bank Roll. While not many MCs are successful with genuine free-form, Tate Kobang did. Tim Trees' 2000 single Bank Rolls, a Baltimore smash that Kobang experienced while he was just eight years old, served as the inspiration for Tate's 2015 song's rhythm.
Tate launched his hip-bounce career after ten years with a series of mixtapes, including 2012's Book of Joshua. He offered the Crown of Thorn mixtape in 2014, then in 2015, he released Live Hazey and his version of Bank Rolls (same beat, different verses), which was supposed to be a temporary freebie.
