Selena y Los Dinos was a Tejano band led by Selena, an American singer, and her sister, Suzette, who played the drums. Selena y Los Dinos was founded when she was nine years old. Selena later signed with EMI Latin, who informed her that the world wanted Selena, not Los Dinos. Selena started releasing studio albums under her own name, Selena, rather than Selena y Los Dinos. Suzette took over as the family spokeswoman after Selena's sad death in 1995. Selena was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2017, and Suzette accepted the award on behalf of her sister. Selena: The Series was created in 2018 by the Quintanilla family in collaboration with Netflix and Campanario, and it follows Selena and her family as they make life-changing decisions to make her dreams come true and manage their success.
