Selena y Los Dinos was a Tejano band led by Selena, an American singer, and her sister, Suzette, who played the drums. Selena y Los Dinos was founded when she was nine years old.
Selena and Suzette began their career at family gatherings and parties, and the band grew in prominence, producing more than a half-dozen albums and won several prizes. Selena later signed with EMI Latin, who informed her that the world wanted Selena, not Los Dinos. Selena started releasing studio albums under her own name, Selena, rather than Selena y Los Dinos.
