In 2001, Sue began serving cuisine and doing private catering services out of her house, launching Sue Chef as a company. It was a true labor of love. Sue, who self-educated herself, never attended culinary school and attributes her understanding of cuisine to a tough upbringing.

Making her way up to become known in Grand Rapids, Michigan's culinary community Sue quickly secured a position as a culinary coordinator at a local cooking school. Sue claims that she had the greatest instruction ever while working side by side with the best cooks in the region.

I hired local chefs to teach workshops, and through them, I learned the sophisticated methods and procedures that only trained, experienced chefs can impart. After the company was sold, the culinary school closed, and that is when Sue Chef Cooking School opened.

I entered into agreements with a few nearby businesses to provide cooking lessons at their locations since I believed there was a genuine need for them in the commercial sector. Her seminars were offered in a few well-known restaurants as well as at Williams Kitchen and Bath's first-rate showroom.

In addition to her accomplishments in the culinary study hall, Sue has also produced, hosted, and distributed her own TV program that aired in each of Michigan's seven PBS markets. She has also written a cookbook and continues to advise food retailers on product selection showcasing and food promoting.
