Stephen Greenblatt is Cogan University Professor of the Humanities at Harvard University. Tyrant: Shakespeare on Politics; The Rise and Fall of Adam and Eve; The Swerve: How the World Became Modern; Shakespeare's Freedom; Will in the World: How Shakespeare Became Shakespeare; Hamlet in Purgatory; Marvelous Possessions; and Renaissance Self-Fashioning are among his fourteen works.

He is the General Editor of The Norton Anthology of English Literature and The Norton Anthology of World Literature. Shakespeare has changed seven types of analysis and is the founding editor of the journal Representations. His honors include the Norwegian Parliament's Holberg Prize in 2016, the Pulitzer Prize in 2012, and the National Book Award in 2011.
