DeAndre Cortez Way, best known as Soulja Boy Tell 'Em or just Soulja Boy, is a rapper and record producer from the United States. He recorded Crank That in March 2007 and released his debut independent album Unsigned & Still Major: Da Album Before Da Album is followed by a low-budget video of the Crank That dance.
Crank That (Soulja Boy) had its initial airing before the end of May 2007, and Way met with Mr. Collipark to sign a deal with Interscope Records. The song first aired on the Emmy-winning HBO show Entourage, and by September 1 it had topped the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot RingMasters charts.
