Shekinah Nefreteri Cluff Elmore, MD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor of Radiation Cancer at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill who is committed to improving oncology treatment via equality and empathy. She is a cancer survivor who has written in the Journal of the American Medical Association, the New England Journal of Medicine, and Elemental about her experience walking the line between patient and practitioner. She spoke at the TEDMED 2020 conference about living joyously in the face of extreme uncertainty. She and her husband, Adam Cluff, live in Carrboro, North Carolina, with their child, William Isaiah.
