Professor at the University of Michigan and creator antiquarian Dr. Scott Ellsworth. Dr. Ellsworth conducts courses on the history of Black Americans in the South and on injustice and equality in modern American culture. In 1982, after preparing as a history student and participating in the Duke Oral History Program, he earned his Ph.D. Dr. John Hope Franklin and Dr.
Ellsworth presented as the lead researchers for the Tulsa Race Riot Commission and have been actively involved in the ongoing legal efforts to secure compensation for revolt survivors. Dr. Ellsworth is the author of Death in a Promised Land, the only comprehensive history of the terrible Tulsa Race Riot of 1921 (LSU Press).
