Actor and activist Samy Nour Younes are of Lebanese and Puerto Rican origin. He now resides in Brooklyn and performs all around the country, but he is originally from Maryland. Samy is also known as Samy el-Noury, his previous stage name. While in college, he maintained his acting training while majoring in history, his second-most-loved subject.
He earned a BA in Japanese Studies and a diploma in East Asian Studies from the University of Maryland. When Samy came upon a casting notice for a play based on the life of dramatist Yukio Mishima in 2012, his two loves came together. He inquired about being a dramaturg with the director but was instead asked to audition.
