Patrick Houlahan Biography

Strategic Leadership Consulting, LLC's Founder and CEO is Patrick Houlahan. The objective of Strategic Leadership Consulting, which was founded in 2019, is to develop inspired, compassionate, mission-driven leaders. Patrick has had a successful career in the military and in business. Patrick received his appointment as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps after graduating from The Citadel in 1992. He was a fighter pilot stationed in San Diego, California, operating the F/A-18 Hornet and deployed twice to the Western Pacific. Patrick served as an instructor pilot after graduating from the US Navy's "Top Gun" Post Graduate Fighter Weapons School. Patrick was named the Instructor Pilot of the Year in 2003. Patrick flew the A-10 Warthog in the United States Air Force Reserves after leaving active service in 2004 then joined the Marine Corps Reserves in 2006. He formed the first Reserve Training Unit after rejoining the Marine Corps and continued to serve as an Instructor Pilot. Patrick served as a reservist in Al Assad, Iraq, and the Western Pacific. Patrick earned the rank of Colonel after training over 500 replacement aircrew and accumulating over 2800 hours of flight time. He is a graduate of the United States Marine Corps Amphibious Warfare School, the United States Marine Corps Command and Staff College, and the United States Army War College's Master of Strategic Studies program. Patrick served in the Marine Corps as a Supply Officer, Maintenance Officer, Operations Officer, and Unit Officer in Charge, among other positions. Patrick joined Afterburner Inc. in 2004 after leaving the active military and swiftly progressed through the ranks to become an Executive Consultant and Director of Seminars. In 2006, he was named the MPI (Meeting Professionals International) Speaker of the Year in San Diego. Patrick conducted over 450 keynotes, seminars, and involves evaluating today's major businesses such as Verizon, ExxonMobil, Medtronic, DOW, VMware, and H&R Block throughout his 13-year tenure at Afterburner. Patrick has previously worked with Kratos Public Safety and Security as a Southern California account manager, Citadel Defense Company as the Director of Business Development, and Brooks International as an Organizational Development Executive. Patrick worked as an ODE with a number of senior leadership teams, creating agreement and alignment in support of the CEO's objective. Patrick had seen during his work that the companies that were successful in any effort had outstanding leaders. Those that did not succeed. Patrick created Strategic Leadership Consultants in 2019 to assist businesses to become Inspired, Compassionate, Mission-Driven Leaders, after seeing the demand for leadership training.
