Nora Super Biography

Nora Super is the executive director of the Milken Institute Alliance to Improve Dementia Care and the senior director of the Milken Institute Center for the Future of Aging (CFA). CFA's two major emphasis areas are Financial Wellness and Healthy Longevity, and Super offers strategic guidance for both. She is in charge of data-driven research, important policy initiatives, and influential gatherings all around the world. The Alliance to Enhance Dementia Care, which will be launched in 2020, aims to change and improve the complicated health and long-term care systems that individuals living with dementia must traverse. Super is a well-known lecturer, author, and speaker on healthy aging and the economic and social implications of global population aging. “Reducing the Cost and Risk of Dementia: Recommendations to Improve Brain Health and Decrease Disparities” and “Age-Forward Cities for 2030” were two significant studies she published in 2019. Super held many significant leadership positions in the public and commercial sectors prior to joining the Milken Institute. President Barack Obama named her Super executive director of the White House Conference on Aging in 2014, and she garnered widespread praise for her efforts to enhance the lives of older Americans around the country. Super was named one of PBS Next Avenue's top 50 "Influencers in Aging" in 2015, as well as the Medicare Rights Center's Honoree for Outstanding Service to Medicare Beneficiaries. She has also worked with the US Department of Health and Human Services, AARP, Kaiser Permanente, and the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging in leadership positions. The Long-Term Quality Alliance, the Brain Health Partnership Advisory Board, the Bipartisan Policy Center's Advisory Committee on Improving Care Delivery for Individuals with Serious Illness, the Better Medicare Alliance Beneficiary Education Technical Advisory Council, and the Brookings Institution and Kellogg School of Management Retirement Security Advisory Council are among Super's many boards. Super, a New Orleans native, earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Tulane University and a master's degree in public administration from George Washington University, with a focus on health policy.
