In 1955, Michael Rooker was born in Jasper, Alabama. His parents divorced and he moved with his mother to Chicago at age 13. While attending college, he became interested in acting and started off on local stage productions.
On his first break into film, Rooker’s personality and good looks were used to his advantage as he played the titled character Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, filmed in 1986 and wasn’t released until 1990 due to its controversial nature. He has spent most of his acting career playing villains, brutes, and psychopaths, since that unforgettable performance.
