Michael Stanley Regan, born on August 6, 1976, is an American environmental official who currently serves as the 16th administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency since March 11, 2021. He made history as the first African American male to hold the position.
Previously, Regan worked as the head of North Carolina's Department of Environmental Quality and an air quality specialist at the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). He is well-regarded by environmental organizations for his efforts to tackle environmental discrimination and advocacy for policies that combat climate change
