Harris Wittels, a 30-year-old up-and-coming writer, comedian, and actor, died in his Los Angeles home in 2015 of a heroin overdose. Maureen Wittels, his mother, is now bravely sharing her personal tale of loss in the hopes of inspiring change in other families. Even though her tale has a terrible ending, Maureen talks with tremendous humility, courage, and humor.
She tells stories of her son Harris's early life and career as he rose to stardom. Maureen talks about his path from doing standup comedy in his hometown to being noticed by comic Sarah Silverman. Maureen is incredibly proud of all of Harris' achievements.
