Matt Hay is a sought-after speaker, author, and rare disease advocate who lost his hearing to neurofibromatosis type 2 (NF2) at age 25. His memoir, “Soundtrack of Silence” (2024), recounts his efforts to preserve musical memories with his wife, Nora, before an auditory brainstem implant restored some hearing. An Indiana University alumnus (MS, MBA, pursuing DrPH), he lobbied Congress for NF funding, ran endurance events, and works in biopharma advocacy, speaking all across the country. Channing Tatum optioned his story. Hay serves on advisory boards and inspires through resilience, love, technology, and community.
