Martin Redrado, the former Governor of Argentina's Central Bank, is now the Chairman of the BIS's Americas Committee. Redrado established the Fundaci贸n Capital in 1994, which specializes in economic research and policy formulation, and served as its Chief Economist until 2001. He earned a master's degree in public administration from Harvard University and focused in finance and international economics.
While pursuing his private-sector career, he was asked by the government to serve as a public servant on many times. He was named President of the National Securities Commission in 1991, where he developed the new regulatory framework for the Argentine capital market, among other accomplishments.
