Mark Polansky is a former NASA Astronaut who flew on STS-98 STS-116 and STS-127 accumulating close to 1000 hours in space. Polansky graduated from Purdue University with both a B.S. and M.S. in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering.
Upon graduation he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force (USAF) and was subsequently a distinguished graduate from USAF Undergraduate Pilot Training. Polansky then served as a Fighter Pilot in the F-15 and F-5E aircraft. He was then selected to attend USAF Test Pilot School where he was a distinguished graduate.
