Marita Cheng is a technology entrepreneur and champion for women in technology. She was named Young Australian of the Year in 2012. Marita is the creator and CEO of 2Mar Robotics, where she works as a mechanical engineer on a daily basis. 2Mar Robotics aspires to make robots that assist us in our daily lives a reality.
The firm began by developing robotic arms for patients who have limited movement in their upper limbs. The iPhone, Android phone, and two separate head-gyroscopic interfaces are used to operate the robot arms. 2Mar won $20,000 from the University of Melbourne's Melbourne Accelerator Program five weeks after it was formed in 2013.
