Ed Reed, a free safety with the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League, was born on September 11, 1978. He was a two-time All-American at the University of Miami where he played collegiate football. The Baltimore Ravens selected him 24th overall in the 2002 NFL Draft, and he has spent his whole professional career with the team.
Reed was named to nine Pro Bowls throughout his career, won the 2004 NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award, and holds the NFL record for the two longest interception returns. He also owns the record for most interception return yards in the NFL, with 1,506.
