Lakey Peterson is a world-class female surfer noted for her innovative aerial techniques, athletic prowess, and rapid ascent through the ranks. Peterson was dubbed Lakey Surf Legend at the age of five and is the daughter of a national swimming champion, so it's no wonder that she was surfing competitively by the age of eleven.
Peterson began winning NSSA championships at the age of 12 and won the NSSA Open Women's Title at the age of 14 by doing the first-ever female aerial move in competition. In 2010, she successfully defended her title and was awarded the WSL North American Regional Champion for the women's and junior women's divisions for the 2010-11 season.
