Kita Williams Biography

A result of a father who didn’t finish high school and a teenage mom, Kita Williams is one of five children and was born in Louisville, Kentucky. She went through several difficulties that gave her the drive and determination to keep advancing regardless of any situation. At the age of 24, she saved up $5,000 and made the important decision to move to California in search of an internship with a national media outlet. She holds a BA in journalism from the University of Kentucky and she later received an MBA. While she was still in Kentucky, she began her career as a news reporter. The T.O. Show is actually Kita’s second venture in front of the cameras. After working for Rogers & Cowan, a reputable PR firm, Island Def Jam came with an offer and she was made the Music Group’s Director of Publicity for the West Coast. She's worked with some big names in the music industry like Ludacris, Destiny’s Child, Mariah Carey and Jay-Z. Kita credits her time at Island Def Jam for teaching her the music business and introducing her to Monique “Mo” Jackson who is her friend, business partner and sister. Kita is experienced as a television host and correspondent. On the UNCF Empower Me Tour with her partner Monique, she was a speaker and in their workshop called Define Your Pretty Workshop they spoke to college students. Kita lives with her fiancé in Los Angeles.
