1989 Food & Wine Magazine named Famie one of the “Best New Ten Chefs of the Year” in the same year Esquire Magazine named Les Auteur one of the Best New Restaurants in the country.In 1996 Famie accepted the position of Chef de Cuisine for Forte restaurant in Birmingham Michigan.

Esquire named the following year Forte one of the Best New Restaurants of the year once again. Two years later Famie left to start his current endeavor Visionalist Entertainment Productions.
