In the year 1953, José Mara Aznar was born in Madrid. He has honorary professorships at the Universidad de Ciencias Aplicadas in Pereira (2006) and the Universidad San Antonio in Murcia, where he is also a Professor of Ethics (2009). He has three children and five grandkids with Ana Botella, with whom he is married.
He is a practicing lawyer, the Executive President of FAES (The Foundation for Social Studies and Analysis), the Honorary Chairman of the Partido Popular, and a member of News Corporation's Board of Directors. He is also a Distinguished Fellow of Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), where he chairs the Atlantic Basin Initiative.
