After his dad purchased an Apple II GS on eBay for him, Joey Krug started programming in Applesoft BASIC in middle school and because he enjoys translating his ideas into code; he chose to study CS in college. In 2016, Krug began to angel invest and in the process, he co-started a top-ranked AngelList Syndicate.

In 2017, he joined Pantera Capital, one of the largest blockchain-focused investment firms and became co-CIO. Krug built a sound based Point-of-Sale payment system before he joined Pantera. He co-founded Forecast Foundation, which contributes to the development of Eco (a cryptocurrency that borrows elements of traditional currencies) and Augur (a decentralized oracle and prediction market protocol).
