Survivor. Author. Activist. Expert on Victims' Rights. Jennifer Storm is frequently the first call reporters make when news break, having worked on numerous high-profile cases including aiding victims of Jerry Sandusky, Bill Cosby, Catholic Clergy victims, and hundreds of other cases in her twenty-year career as a victim advocate. Ms. Storm worked as the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Victim Advocate for more than seven years, collaborating with the Department of Corrections, Board of Parole, Attorney General, and State Police to ensure that all crime victims were given access to their rights and resources. After being overwhelmingly approved by the state Senate on Dec. 10, 2013, Ms. Storm held this post from 2013 to 2021 under the leadership and nominations of both Governors Tom Wolf and Tom Corbett. She was the only person in Commonwealth history to earn back-to-back bipartisan appointments as Victim Advocate, representing the rights and interests of crime victims throughout the Commonwealth. Her many media appearances as the county spokesman for victims' rights include appearances on all major networks, including ABC, FOX, NBC, NPR, CBS, and PBS. Storm has given keynotes, talks, seminars, and panel discussions around the country on topics such as victims' rights, LGBT rights, addiction and recovery, and civil rights. Storm is the best-selling author of four books about addiction, rehabilitation, and victimization. Picking Up the Pieces Without Picking Up: A Guidebook Through Victimization for People in Recovery, Leave the Light On: A Memoir of Recovery and Self-Discovery, and Blackout Girl: Growing Up and Drying Out in America are some of the books she has written. She's now working on a documentary based on her first memoir, Blackout Girl, which she wrote.
