Hawthorne Heights Biography

Hawthorne Heights is a Dayton, Ohio-based American rock band that established in 2001. JT Woodruff is the main singer and rhythm guitarist, Micah Carli is the lead guitarist and vocalist, Matt Ridenour is the bassist and backing vocalist, and Eron Bucciarelli is the drummer. Casey Calvert, the band's guitarist and frontman, died of natural causes on November 24, 2007, leaving the band as a four-piece. Since changing their name to Hawthorne Heights, the band, formerly known as A Day in the Life, has produced three studio albums on Victory Records. Both of the band's first two albums, "The Silence in Black and White," released in 2004, and "If Only You Were Lonely," released in 2006, were certified gold. Their second album also reached number one on the Billboard Independent Albums list and number three on the Billboard 200 Albums chart. Their 2006 song, "Saying Sorry," went gold and peaked at number seven on the Billboard Hot Modern Rock Tracks list. After a protracted legal fight between the two companies, the band's third album, "Fragile Future," was released in August 2008, surprise under Victory Records again. In June 2010, Hawthorne Heights released their fourth studio album, their first on Wind-up Records. “Skeletons” debuted at number 50 on the Billboard 200. Victory, the band's former label, issued a greatest hits CD named "Midwesterners: The Hits" in November 2010. Hawthorne Heights soon departed Wind-up Records to launch their own record label, Cardboard Empire. The band will release an EP trilogy under this new label, beginning with "Hate" in August 2011 and "Hope" in June 2012, with a third and final installment to follow.
