George Weigel is a Catholic theologian and one of America's top public intellectuals. He is a Distinguished Senior Fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center. He was born in Baltimore and received his education at St. Mary's Seminary College and the University of St. Michael's College in Toronto. Weigel arrived in Seattle in 1975 to work at the St.

Thomas Seminary School of Theology in Kenmore as an Assistant Professor of Theology and Assistant (later Acting) Dean of Studies. Weigel joined the World Without War Council of Greater Seattle as Scholar-in-Residence in 1977, a post he maintained until 1984. Weigel was a fellow at Washington, D.C.'s Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars from 1984-85.
