Wolfhard got his first acting job from Craigslist. He made his television debut as Zoran in The 100 followed by a role as Jordie Pinsky in Supernatural.In 2016 Wolfhard came to worldwide prominence as Mike Wheeler in the hit Netflix series Stranger Things. He auditioned for the role via video while sick in bed after seeing an open casting call.
The role earned him along with the rest of the cast a SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.He will play Richie Tozier in the film adaptation of Stephen King's It which is set to release on 8 September 2017.
