Dr. Glaucomflecken is the pseudonym of William E. Flanary, MD, a board-certified ophthalmologist and comedian based in Portland, Oregon. Flanary, a Houston native, began his comedy career at 18 but later focused on a career in medicine, graduating from Dartmouth Medical School and completing his residency at the University of Iowa. In 2016, he launched @DGlaucomflecken on X for ophthalmology humor, later gaining fame through TikTok and YouTube skits, amassing over 3 million followers.
