David Ignatius is a Washington Post columnist. In January 1999, his twice-weekly piece on global politics, economics, and foreign affairs debuted on the Post's op-ed page. After becoming executive editor of the Paris-based International Herald Tribune in September 2000, he continued to write regularly. Mr.
Ignatius started writing twice a week for the op-ed page when the Post sold its investment in the IHT in January 2003, and his work was syndicated internationally by The Washington Post Writers Group. Mr. Ignatius worked as the Post's associate managing editor in charge of business coverage until becoming a columnist in 1993.
