Dillon is the Cincinnati-based Kroger Co.'s chairman of the board and CEO. In 1976, he joined the Dillon Companies in Hutchinson, working for the King Soopers branch in Denver, after graduating from Southern Methodist University with a law degree.
He held different roles within the firms until returning to Hutchinson in 1983 and became vice president of Dillon Companies in 1986. In 1990, he was appointed executive vice president of The Kroger Company, and in 1995, he was made president and chief operating officer. In July, he succeeded Joseph A.
