Belinda Jensen is a longtime meteorologist and television personality best known for her 33-year career at KARE 11, the NBC affiliate in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota. She grew up loving the outdoors and science, later earning a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Jensen started at KARE 11 as an intern, joined full-time as a weekend meteorologist in 1993, and became Chief Meteorologist in 2005. She also co-hosted “KARE 11 Saturday” and “Grow with KARE,” and was a regular on “Minnesota Bound.” Known for her warm, engaging style and clear forecasts in the “Super Bowl of weather,” she authored the children’s book series “Bel the Weathergirl” to make science fun for kids. She retired on May 2, 2026, after more than three decades. Jensen is respected for her community work, STEM advocacy for young girls, and positive presence on Twin Cities television.
